If you were in high school in the 90’s, listened to rock n’ roll and lived in the Boston area you will very likely recognize the song below.  Italian Ice (Go, Guido, Go) by The Stools.  It was a 104.1 WBCN staple in the early to mid 1990’s, a favorite of DJ Charles Laquidara on his show The Big Mattress.  Other DJ’s would play it occasionally as well, almost always in the summer.  I used to love this song and after a summer-like evening stroll around Somerville this song was on the brain. Have a listen, it’s as old school Boston summer as it gets.  Warning – NOT politically correct, but very funny, catchy too.
